Job Overview

The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases Research Unit (IDRU), Virology Laboratory, is currently accepting applications for a full time 100% FTE, research assistant, to assist with the coordination of laboratory projects or research studies. This individual will make independent contributions to projects and studies based on professional training or functional experience.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for processing and storage of specimens as defined by protocol requirements using Lab Processing Charts in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Apply research principals for less complex assignments.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Minimum Requirements

Must be available to work flexible hours/nights/weekends.

Required Education

  • Bachelor s Degree
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
