NYC/New Jersey Wholesale Fashion Jewelry Company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join a busy Accounting department in Clifton, NJ. Vendors are in the US and overseas supporting a fast paced make to order business.
The Senior Accountant will assist in the daily operations of the Finance department and will be responsible for the preparation and analysis of the monthly financial reporting package.
Requirements
Ability to work as part of a team with all levels of management and operations
Attention to detail and accuracy
Accounting Degree
Excellent verbal and written skills
Interpersonal skills and adaptable to change is a must
Inventory experience helpful
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
Good organizational skills
Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, vlookups)
Proficiency in Word and Outlook with ability to use email, calendar, tasks and create and compose documents/letters
Responsibilities
Monthly Departmental overhead expenses
Analysis of actual overhead expenses versus the budget
Calculation of Salesmen commission and incentive
Customer profitability reports (accrual basis)
Financial package and supp reports
GL account reconciliation
Customer allowance trend analysis Gross sales analysis / revenue reports (monthly)
Physical inventory reconciliation (semi annual)
Month end inventory reconciliation
Assist with year end close, including year end audit
Assist with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling account details and control accounts
Performs a variety of general accounting support tasks within the Accounting Department
Prepare special reports; completing special projects
Reconcile A/R and A/P accounting discrepancies and irregularities
